Oh no! Were the pictures on your camera, or did you lose them from your computer? They might be recoverable - I don't really know anything about that stuff, but I know it's pretty hard to permanently erase things, and if you take it to someone who knows they might be able to get some of it back...I hope!

Sucks. I agree with Rebecca. Don't give up completely yet, take it somewhere and see if they can recover anything.
