but was it as good as the real thing?

Last night I snuck a piece of chocolate before I started reading Adia's bedtime stories. Adia smelt chocolate on my breath and tried to find the source. When she gave up finding it she stuck her hand in my mouth (it was open since I was talking to her) and licked it.
She tried to do it again but I wouldn't let her
I would have given her own chocolate if I wasn't trying to put her in bed. Anyway, she had yogurt for dessert, which I think, is pretty sweet enough.

Spencer doesn't make sense. Here are my two examples of things that happened yesterday.

Me: Are you trying to eat your lotion?
Spencer: No.
Me: I was talking to Adia, why did you think I was asking you that?
Spencer: I was afraid you were going to ask me it I was eating icecream.

Later that night....

Spencer: I really wanted to spend time with you and Adia. You should have told me to stop playing video games.

Cryberries

Today I took Adia to a farm she loved all the dogs, like this dog and the HUGE dogs I kept calling cows.

I don't like ice cream on hot, humid days it makes me feel heavy. I found the best dessert, frozen blueberries.
everyone who ever reads this (Spencer) buy some frozen blueberries (cause I'm not sharing) suck on a couple and then eat ice-cream. Guaranteed the ice-cream will taste gross and you will finish off that bag of blueberries.

cookies?! for breakfast!

I was very proud of myself when I broke Spencer's habit of eating ice-cream for breakfast, though I realize now it didn't change much of anything. Yesterday he had pancakes with syrup and cream topping off his breakfast with a piece of Mother's Day carrot cake.

Later we had this conversation.
Spencer: Go ahead and get rid of that cream frosting I made I keep eating it plain.
Me: Oh I totally understand sometime I just eat some butter out of the fridge.
Spencer: At least there is sugar in this cream
Me: Well, yeah I dip my butter in sugar before I eat it.

shaking hands with the devil

Adia has chosen her left hand to be dominante.
I try to make fun of her call her a weirdo and freak it doesn't seem to work.
I try playing "quit hitting yourself" with her left hand so she associates it with pain.
It hasn't worked yet.

The genius in me

I hear this too often, "He's really smart just not focused." It goes along with the gifted children post on stuff white people like, Diesle Sweeties posted on it too.
I have a friend who has a 4.0 for three years at a university. I told a mother who's son goes to the same university, "My son is a genius he could get those grades if he applied himself." This is said about a kid who had his computer stolen after he left it in a cafe to go get high.

I am impressed when I met people who are disciplined in their hobbies and professions. If you kid can do complicated math equations but fails to do homework because they are watching Boy Meets Wold re-runs I don't think you are allowed to call her a genius.

Speaking of genius, a cat pooped on our roof last night. I see it every time I walk outside.

Funny Love

Spencer had been reading this fantasy series he loves. It's George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. The first book, Game of Thrones is over 800 pages. He reads them while I work. We finished the first book staying up till midnight.
He was so excited to finally talk to me about it.
"What do you think?"
"I don't know ask me in the moring."
"You didn't like it?"
"No, it's ...it's just so bleak there's nothing happy in the end. There is no love, Every marrige has the husband die, the girl's baby dies and the young girls are beaten daily. It's just ends so bleak and you say the next book is all war I'm not sure I want to keep reading."

....

"I knew you wouldn't like it. It's not Pucca."

Spencer and I have always had opposing opinions of entertainment. Mainly I like anything animated and Spencer needs fighting.

This Pucca
is one of my favorites.

Dream a little dream

Last night I had a dream I was on a ship with a couple in their late forties telling them what we (the crew) would be doing with their daughter, who had just died. I positioned the girls arms up dipped them in oil and wax and set her arms on fire as a torch. The ship began to fill with water and the corpse torch began to bob in the water the arms had burned down to the elbows and continued to burn. I was under water looking up at the corpse's face, she turned and looked at me.
Spencer had to wake me up.

the runaway bunny

I was reading Adia The Runaway Bunny last night, and changed the words.
When I was a kid I hated that story, I thought the mom-bunny was scary. The story is about a baby bunny trying to get away from the mom bunny who I assumed was abusive. Why else would a baby bunny want to be away from his mother? I pictured this poor little bunny trying to get away to a safe place but the mom-bunny would find him.
I found the book at a bookstore and I bought it because I always loved the pictures. I changed the story for Adia where the baby bunny is changed into all these objects but the mommy bunny still knows how to get to her poor bunny who is enchanted.
